Mead - The nectar of the Gods

Mead is an ancient drink made from the fermentation of water and honey. Divine essence of the union between Heaven and Earth, the mead was consumed during the lunation following the wedding ceremony, in the belief that the energies that the drink conferred would help the spouses to face their first intimate relationships, favoring procreation.

The term "Vofion", dating back to ancient Umbrian, can be understood as "divinity of the Clan", a pulsating expression of the reproductive function capable of assuming the role of Umbrian correspondent of the Greek God Dionysus, divinity of ecstasy, of intoxication and the liberation of the senses.

Excellent as a meditation drink, after a long and tiring day at work.

Organoleptic aspects

The mead from “Birrificio del Catria” has a vibrant ruby color, unusual for a drink like mead. This peculiar color is given by the addition, in refermentation, of the “Cantiano Amarene” juice which gives a pleasant fruity and acidulous note. The maturation with oak wood gives it a vigorous roundness that goes well with its sparkling character.
