Cherries in syrup

Amarena di Cantiano” are produced with just 3 essential ingredients: our unique local sour cherry (stoned), sugar and lemon juice. In this way, our sour cherries are conserved in their own syrup and are without preservatives.

Delicious as a topping on ice-cream, yoghurt, and ricotta cheese or as an accompaniment for lightly matured or herb cheeses. Absolutely perfect for the preparation: panna cotta, blancmange, Bavarian, or for chocolate cakes, fruit tarts and cheesecakes. A thirst-quenching, fragrant drink can be obtained by mixing the cherries with cool water.

Notes

This product is vacuum cooked, in order to allow water evaporation at low temperature, between 50 and 70 °C, thus avoiding excessive cooking and burns. No oxygen during cooking also means that food is not subject to the oxidation process that would darken its color. Fruits and vegetables keep their bright color, and the natural flavor of the product is enhanced, because the flavoring substances are well preserved.
